Acronis: Providing "True" Disaster Recovery Software

The Acronis True Image ECHO Small Business Server for Windows is a comprehensive backup and bare-metal restore solution for small business environments at a competitive price. It uses disk imaging technology, which is the fastest way to restore a down system.
To restore a server, simply restore from the image - no reinstallation of the operating system, databases, and applications are required. Acronis True Image Echo reads the sectors of your hard disk, creating an image of the entire disk, including all data and operating system components. It can even backup and restore individual files and folders on your hard disk while online - keeping users productive.
Symantec Ghost is the closest competitor to Acronis, but they differ in many ways. Ghost is not meant to be used soley as an imaging product, not a backup solution because you can't use Ghost while the operating system is running. The server needs to be rebooted to DOS in order to perform an image of the system. Backup Exec is Symantec's backup software which allows you to perform backups while the system is running. Symantec requires you to purchase two sets of software and in a disaster this forces you to perform two recoveries; the first would be to restore your image and then restore your last full backup with backup exec.
